Δεύτερη ανάρτηση σχετική και σήμερα θα μιλήσουμε για τα ενισχυτικά. Τι είναι αυτά;
Τα ενισχυτικά είναι χαρτιά ή και άλλα υλικά που τα χρησιμοποιούμε, προκειμένου να κάνουμε ένα ύφασμα πιο σταθερό ή και πιο στητό. Και γιατί το θέλουμε αυτό; Είτε γιατί θέλουμε να φτιάξουμε μια τσάντα πχ ή ένα πάνινο καλάθι που πρέπει να στέκεται μόνο του είτε γιατί θέλουμε να κεντήσουμε με τη μηχανή μας πάνω σε ένα ύφασμα πολύ λεπτό και άρα πρέπει να το ενισχύσουμε.
Τα ενισχυτικά που κυκλοφορούν είναι αρκετά, επώνυμα και μη και μπορούμε και αυτά να τα ξεχωρίσουμε ως εξής:

Επίσης διάκριση γίνεται και ανάλογα με το πάχος τους και φυσικά το έργο μας και η χρήση του είναι εκείνο που καθορίζει και το πάχος του ενισχυτικού. Αν πχ κάνουμε μια τσάντα που τη θέλουμε πολύ στητή, θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε ένα πιο χοντρό ενισχυτικό, από το αν θέλουμε απλώς να δουλέψουμε πάνω σε ένα ελαστικό ύφασμα. Στη δεύτερη περίπτωση θα διαλέξουμε ένα λεπτό ενισχυτικό που θα μας βοηθήσει, χωρίς να «επέμβει» στο στήσιμο του υφάσματος.

Ενισχυτικά από ύφασμα
Είναι κυρίως οι καρίνες. Γνωστές σε όσους ασχολούνται με ρούχα. Έχουν διαφορετικά πάχη και τις βάζουμε στα υφάσματα για να τα κάνουμε πιο σταθερά. Οι καρίνες μένουν μέσα στο ρούχο ή στο όποιο έργο μας, χωρίς να κάνουν αισθητή την παρουσία τους. Μπορείτε να δείτε την καρίνα μας εδώ
Ενισχυτικά από χαρτί
Είναι χαρτιά διαφορετικού πάχους, που έχουν και διαφορετική χρήση. Είναι τα ενισχυτικά κεντήματος πρώτα απ' όλα που τα βάζουμε πίσω από ένα λεπτό ύφασμα, προκειμένου να μπορούμε να το δουλέψουμε στη μηχανή χωρίς να ζαρώνει (Fuse-n-tear & Stitch-n-tear), είναι άλλα χαρτιά πιο στητά, που τα χρησιμοποιούμε για να κάνουμε πχ μια τσάντα πιο στητή (S320), αλλά και σε διάφορες άλλες κατασκευές. Τα χαρτιά αυτά μένουν επίσης μέσα στο έργο μας και, αν είναι καλής ποιότητας, πλένονται με αυτό.
Ενισχυτικά από άλλα υλικά
Είναι υλικά που αφενός μεν κάνουν το έργο μας πιο στητό, αλλά ορισμένα από αυτά κάνουν και το ύφασμα να έχει υφή του δέρματος (Decovil).
Και φυσικά όπως και στις βάτες έχουμε κι εδώ υλικά που μπαίνουν με διαφορετικό τρόπο:
Ραφτά ενισχυτικά
Είναι αυτά που απλώς τα βάζουμε κάτω από το ύφασμα και τα γαζώνουμε μαζί με αυτό, όπου χρειάζονται. (Stitch-n-tear)
Θερμοκολλητικά ενισχυτικά
Είναι αυτά που έχουν κόλλα στη μια τους πλευρά και τις κολλάμε σε ένα ύφασμα με τη βοήθεια του σίδερου. (Καρίνα, Fuse-N-Tear, S320 & Decovil) Συνήθως δίνουν καλύτερο αποτέλεσμα.
Αυτοκόλλητα ενισχυτικά
Είναι αυτά που έχουν κόλλα στη μια τους πλευρά, που όμως βρίσκεται κάτω από ένα φύλλο χαρτί. Ξεκολλάμε το χαρτί και κολλάμε την ενίσχυση πάνω στο ύφασμα, όπως κάνουμε όταν ντύνουμε ένα τετράδιο.
